At Skyscanner we have multiple distributed teams contributing to our Android codebase. Over the past two years we’ve been building and refining a framework to allow us to track and visualise the Availability and Performance of the features in our app in a clear and consistent way to ensure that we are delivering the best experience for our travellers.

This talk will go through our journey, covering areas including:
– How to effectively define “what” you should be monitoring
– How to write and provide client-side code that makes this easy for engineers
– How to understand and transform this data into something clear and meaningful

By walking through the above, we will be looking at the Android code as well as touching on basic concepts around Data Pipelines and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). However no previous knowledge of these is required and hopefully this talk will be a good introduction!
