Hello from the other side: effective collaboration with backend engineers

As app developers, part of our daily job is to collaborate with backend engineers. The quality of this interaction will depend on the company culture, the team culture and how we approach it. It’s easy to fall into the mindset of thinking: - “I don’t write the API, I consume it”. - “If it’s broken, it’s not my fault as it’s backend driven” - “The backend is a complete black box to me” But it doesn’t have to be this way. This session will explore behaviours, processes and tools we can adopt to improve team collaboration and eventually build better products.
